Different Booking Platforms

To optimize the visibility of your property, Pillow provides you with the opportunity to list your property on a variety of listing platforms. As the Property Owner, you have the ability to be listed/unlisted on any or all of the platforms Pillow supports. These changes can be made through your Pillow Owner Dashboard.

Below are some key differences between the various listing platforms:

 

Your Airbnb Account:

Whether or not you had an Airbnb account prior to joining Pillow you will still be able to access your Airbnb account when using Pillow’s services. However, while your password will remain the same, your email address will be changed so that Pillow can handle all Airbnb communications on your behalf.

Airbnb Guest Requirements:

All Airbnb Guests are required to meet the following qualifications to book your property:

  • A working email address
  • A working phone number
  • Valid credit card information
  • Verified ID (ONLY if this is set in your Airbnb Reservation Requirements)
  • A profile photo (required only for Instant Book)

By default, your property will be set to Instant Book in Airbnb. It is the guests responsibility to read through your properties requirements and ensure that they meet said requirements prior to booking the property. 
 

Your HomeAway/VRBO Account:

Whether or not you had a HomeAway/VRBO account prior to joining Pillow, a new listing will be created for you on HomeAway/VRBO under Pillow’s account . While you will be able to see and edit the content of this listing indirectly through your Pillow dashboard, you will unable to access the account directly.

If you have another HomeAway/VRBO profile already Pillow will not use it. It is important that your calendar is marked as “unavailable” in your current profile for as long as you’re using Pillow.

 

HomeAway/VRBO Guest Requirements:

All HomeAway/VRBO Guests are required to meet the following qualifications to book your property:

  • A working email address
  • A working phone number
  • Valid credit card information

By default, all bookings via the HomeAway/VRBO platform are Instant Book.  All guests on HomeAway/VRBO are automatically accepted by Pillow as long as your calendar is available for the requested dates. While this makes for easy and quick booking, guests are not vetted as stringently as on Airbnb.

Due to the 5% service fee associated with HomeAway/VRBO bookings, to ensure your income is not impacted by this difference, Pillow increases your booking rate on this platform by 2% to be consistent with this fee.
