Something isn’t working at the property, what do I do?

Staying at someone’s home means you may experience some wear and tear of the property; it might be something as small as batteries running out on the smoke alarm or a pilot light going out on the gas stove. Guests are not liable for the costs of repairing these natural wear and tear items, but should alert their host if they experience something out of the ordinary.
